Rock Climbing 101 is perfect for you!

This full day class lays down the foundation needed for a lifetime of safe climbing adventures. Along with learning the basic knots for climbing we introduce the fundamental safety systems.  You will learn and practice belaying, rappelling and the use of modern climbing equipment. After a climbing skills demonstration you'll get lots time to practice your new rock skills.

Topics covered:

Safety on the rock- communication, proper equipment, etc.

A little history of rock climbing.

How rock climbing works.

The basics of modern rock climbing equipment and use.

Belaying

Knot tying

Rappelling

Rock climbing movement!

  • Must be able to walk on uneven ground and have reasonable fitness.

Included:

  • All rock climbing equipment:
    • harness
    • helmet
    • sticky rubber climbing shoes
    • belay device
  • Group climbing equipment (ropes, protection, etc.)
  • AMGA trained and/or certified guide
  • All necessary permits

Not included:

  • Lunch/drinks
  • Transportation to and from location
