I took a backcountry travel course (slightly different from the avalanche safety courses) with Tim just outside of Mammoth's boundaries...He provided all the gear I needed and gave tidbits of info here and there along with firsthand experience. Little things that made so much sense but wouldn't normally come to mind (my mind at least) made learning much easier.
Howie and Jed are awesome guides. My first choice for guided tours to getting your avalanche level 1 certification. These guys are professional and have great people skills to top it off.
