Kimmy Fasani is a professional snowboarder who was born and raised in Truckee, CA. After graduating high school she moved to Mammoth Lakes, CA to pursue her snowboarding career and attend college. After competing on the pro circuit for a handful of years, she shifted her focus to filming in the back country. In 2011, Kimmy has graced the cover of Transworld Snowboard Magazine and was nominated for Female Rider of the Year, Female Video part of the Year, and Reader’s Choice. She has been featured in snowboard films like Runway Films “See What I See”, Standard Films The Storming, TB20, and 2112, The Burton Presents Series, Transworld Snowboarding Magazine Movie Origins, and most recently Absinthe Films movie AfterForever released this Fall. Kimmy is also passionate about providing opportunities for women to progress their snowboarding through her events; Amusement Park, a terrain park focused event, and Amusement MTN, a backcountry educational experience, both of which are hosted at her local mountain- Mammoth Mountain. After spending over 8 years exploring the backcountry all over the world, Kimmy is taking the steps towards becoming a guide over the next few years. She’s an avid supporter of Protect Our Winters as well as B4BC. She’s married to professional skier Chris Benchetler, and they are part owners in an organic bakery in Mammoth Lakes, CA called Mimi’s Cookie Bar.
Kimmy is great friend and an invaluable resource for SMG as an athlete, connector, and mentor for her fellow snow sport practitioners, as they further develop their backcountry knowledge and skills.
