Current conditions on the East Face and Mountaineer’s Routes, from June 11th, 2014.

Here are the current conditions for Mt. Whitney.  We just finished a successful East Face trip!  We were able to complete both the climb and the descent without using ice axe or crampons.  You would now be able to avoid snow completely on all routes.  There is still ice on Iceberg Lake but there is plenty of open water.  We had some afternoon thunder snow, so pay attention to the weather and be sure to get an alpine start. ~ Neil
