A two-day advanced course geared towards those with previous ice climbing experience who are ready to take the next “mono point” step. This third level course picks up where our Intermediate Ice Climbing course left off and covers advanced waterfall ice climbing skills and techniques along with an introduction to multi-pitch ice climbing.
This course requires a minimum of 2 to run at the dates and prices listed and has a maximum 2:1 guiding ratio. We are happy to arrange this course or similar on a custom private basis.

This is a fun weekend with lots of opportunity for climbing and technical skills practice.
This two day advanced course is geared toward those who have taken our Intro and Intermediate Ice Climbing courses, or have previously had at least four days of professional ice climbing instruction. This class will provide an introduction to multi-pitch ice climbing, that includes ice climbing anchors and ice screw placement. Additionally, the course will cover lead climbing on ice along with rope management when leading or following a pitch. This is a fun weekend with lots of opportunity for climbing and technical skills practice.

|TRIP ITINERARY: Advanced Ice Climbing
|Start with a skills assessment and review of ice climbing technique and efficiency. Target weaknesses and work on skills for climbing steep and sustained ice up to WI4-5. Learn ice analysis and introduce ice screw placement, removal, and racking while climbing steep terrain. Learn to construct solid ice anchors for setting up topropes and multi-pitch climbs.
|Apply skills from Day 1 to continued practice on a multi-pitch climb. Learn Rope management tactics while following and leading multi-pitch climbs. Continued coaching for proper placement of protection for leading ice.
