Clyde Minaret
The king of the Minarets. Simply one of the best climbs of its grade in the Sierra.
The king of the Minarets. Simply one of the best climbs of its grade in the Sierra.
We offer this climb on a custom private basis only, usually in 3 days. We recommend the full hiking loop starting at Agnew Meadow and finishing at Reds Meadow. This trip has a maximum guiding ratio of 2:1.
Clyde is simply one of the best climbs of its grade in the Sierra.
Clyde Minaret (12,281′)
When you are standing at the Minaret summit overlook or riding the lifts at Mammoth Mountain it’s hard to resist the lure of Clyde Minaret. The crown jewel of one of the most jagged sections of ridgeline in the Range.
Southwest Face (Class 4)
A climb to the summit via the Southwest Face route is a climb of a lifetime.
Southeast Face (IV, 5.10a)
There is no question why Clyde’s Southeast Face is one of North America’s 50 classic climbs. The cracks and face are very steep and offer great exposure. Clyde is simply one of the best climbs of its grade in the Sierra.
More in the Minarets!
Climb the prominent Michael Minaret or the spiry Dyer Minaret, or any of the others from Riegelhuth to Leonard. Adventurous and skilled climbers should ask us about a multiday traverse of part or all of the Minaret group. Such a playground!
