Incredible Hulk
The Incredible Hulk is striking and begs to be climbed.
“You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.” But when you are on this amazing granite monolith you will be anything but angry!
The Incredible Hulk is striking and begs to be climbed. Those with the skills and fortitude to take on this level of climbing will be rewarded with one of the best rock climbing experiences in the Sierra. The rock quality is on a par with the best alpine granite anywhere, and the scenery is outstanding in the jagged Sawtooth Range of the Sierra, above Bridgeport.
The best time to climb the Hulk is when the days are long and the sun is high, but when there is not too much snow leftover from winter. We run these scheduled dates for the Red Dihedral route as a 3-day climb, with a 2 person minimum, and with a 2:1 maximum guiding ratio. Climb the Hulk on a custom private basis in order to climb an alternate route on the dates that work best for you. Many stronger climbers prefer to climb this one in a 1 or 2 day format and we are happy to arrange that for you.
Those with the skills and fortitude to take on this level of climbing will be rewarded with one of the best rock climbing experiences in the Sierra.
Incredible Hulk (aka “Ygdrasil”) (11,300 ft.)
Red Dihedral – IV, 5.10b
The Red Dihedral is an outstanding climb, at least as good as the 3rd Pillar of Dana, but longer and more wild. If you have enjoyed the former, then this route should already be on your calendar. Scheduled dates are for this route only.
Positive Vibrations – IV, 5.11a
If you can climb at this stout grade in the Sierra alpine, then prepare for the most “irie” of all climbs in the Range of Light. We don’t need to belabor the point here. Just google it. Unbelievable. By custom private arrangement only.
